Convenience stores & supermarkets – There is a McColls shop and post office, 5 mins walk from the house. There is also a Tesco Express and a Morrisons a short drive away (Morrisons will deliver orders over £40 with charges from £1 to £5). There's also a M&S and a Little Waitrose in the town centre that is open 7am - 10pm.
Public Houses – there are 2 pubs within a couple of minutes walk The Telegraph on New Park Street and The Dog & Pheasant on Severn Street. Shrewsbury hosts a whole range of places to eat and drink all of which are an easy walk from Number 53. Below are a few of our favourites

The Curry House - No website but possibly the best curry in Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury has a multitude of small independent shops, explore the back streets and alley ways to find them all but don’t miss the market hall, closed Sunday & Monday and The Parade Shopping Centre, St Mary’s Place. Late night shopping Wednesday until Christmas.
